Conduct a socio-technical analysis of the context of the web site in the organization. You will interview members of the web management and design team and use what you learn to place the web site into its larger organizational context. You should use the following questions to guide your analysis: What are the organization's "official" goals for the site? What is the site supposed to do for the organization? What is its purpose? Who are the major stakeholders in the organization and what are their goals for the site? [This refers only to those who have some involvement in the site either directly or through their decision making or oversight powers] How is the site integrated into the organization? [This is how we can get a sense of the importance of the site - is it central to what the organization does? It is an advertising channel for the organization? Its it an afterthought?] Who are the main audiences for the web site? [As defined by the people in the organization] What does the organization know about these audiences? What is the work flow involved in maintaining the site? [This refers to the main tasks involved in design, development, maintenance and change. You should be describing the tasks and telling us who does them and when they are done] How many people are involved in developing and maintaining the web site and what are their "official" jobs? [This is related to the previous question] What are the main roles and responsibilities involved in developing and maintaining the site? [So is this - all three can be handled in the same major section] --- Style: like a business report, concise, matter of fact. Don't include any facts that don't have anything directly to do with the development and maintenance o the site. After stating the facts, do include relevant explanations (why something appears to be done a certain way) and relevant evaluations (how reliable is your information; for example, if you were told different things by different employees, etc) Don't include suggestions for improvements.
